Research interests
My current research focus is on decolonisation and its impact in the global workplace. I am currently writing a textbook on decolonising diversity equality and inclusion due in 2027.
My general research interests span across issues around diversity, equity and and inclusion; Sociology of work; issues related to occupational segregation and employment challenges for marginalised groups.
My doctoral research focussed on the employment challenges faced by British Pakistani men and why a quarter of them drive taxis for a living. Drawing from Bourdieusian theory and concepts, the ethnographic approach of my study explores the nuances of the structure-agency debate in sociology through the case of Pakistani taxi drivers in the UK, by integrating intersectionality to the framework.
